Privacy Policy
Playra is a video player for playlists and accounts that you add yourself. This policy explains what Playra does with information. Effective September 26, 2026.
The short version
Playra has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not sell or share your information.
Almost everything Playra knows stays on your device. The only things sent anywhere are the requests needed for features you use, listed below.
Stored on your device
Your sources (playlist links, Xtream server addresses and user names), profiles, favorites, watch history and progress, hidden categories, reminders, downloads, settings and keys you enter for TMDB or OMDb.
Passwords and keys are kept in the device keychain (iOS) or keystore (Android). Your parental PIN is stored only as a salted hash.
None of this is uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
Sent to services you choose
Your TV provider or playlist host: Playra connects to the servers you add, sending the login details you entered, to load channels, guides and video. Their privacy policy applies to that service.
TMDB (themoviedb.org), if you add a TMDB key: search words and title identifiers, to show posters, details and where a title streams. Your IP address is visible to TMDB as with any web request.
OMDb (omdbapi.com), if you add an OMDb key: title identifiers or names, to show IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores.
YouTube, if you tap Trailer: the trailer opens in YouTube or your browser.
Cast and AirPlay devices on your own network, if you cast.
Purchases
Playra Premium is bought through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. Purchases are managed with RevenueCat (revenuecat.com), which receives a random app user identifier and your purchase history so Premium can be unlocked and restored. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
App updates and crash reports
Playra checks Expo (expo.dev) for app updates when it starts. That request includes the app version, platform and a random installation identifier, and no personal information.
If crash reporting is turned on in the version you have, errors are reported to Sentry (sentry.io) with the error details, device model, operating system and app version. Crash reports do not include your sources, logins, viewing history or IP address.
Permissions
Notifications: only for reminders you set. Local network (iOS): only to find Chromecast devices when you cast. Files: only when you choose a playlist, subtitle or backup file.
Children
Playra is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone. Parents can set up kids profiles and a PIN in Parental Controls.
Your choices
You can remove any source, clear watch history, remove keys, or delete the app at any time. Backup files you create are yours; if you include accounts in a backup, the file contains your provider passwords, so keep it private.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and at its web address with a new date. Questions: playraitv@gmail.com (Haris Saleem).
